Orchestras of Auschwitz 

Long-forgotten musical compositions and arrangements by holocaust prisoners have been rescued from obscurity by Leo Geyer in performances by Constella Music in the Sky Arts documentary The Lost Music of Auschwitz.

​

Constella is also creating a full-length opera-ballet production to preserve the musical legacy and stories from Auschwitz, which will premiere in 2025.

Hitler's Jazz Band
Featuring Constella's Artistic Director

Despite the ban on jazz throughout the Third Reich, the Nazis created Germany's premier swing band. Featuring Leo Geyer, this documentary charts the fascinating story of Karl Schweidler and his band.

The Indian Queens

Leo Geyer has composed two pieces for Theater Aachen’s reimagining of Purcell’s The Indian Queen, both inspired by Latin American political songs and written for chorus and baroque orchestra.

The Orchestras of Auschwitz Lecture Recital

This programme is based on research that Geyer, composer and Artistic Director of Constella, unearthed in the archives of Auschwitz-Birkenau. The ensemble will give an insight into the history of the music played by the Orchestras of Auschwitz, and perform some of those long forgotten musical compositions and arrangements by Holocaust prisoners.

Constella is creating a full-length opera-ballet production to preserve the musical legacy and stories from Auschwitz, which will premiere in 2025.
