Preface
Nestled between the red and white roses is a sphere; three segments within reveal a pentagonal form within. Cut through it, is an almost perfect circle; a window to the garden behind.

Programme Note
The Bronze Garden was inspired by a visit to the Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden in St. Ives (Cornwall). The garden itself includes stunning flora, with striking roses, exotic palm trees and vibrant flowers. Amongst the dense foliage, are great shapes cast in bronze; the green gallery creating a welcome home for their forms and colours.
This piece uses the shapes, colours, textures and surroundings of Hepworth’s sphere to create the musical material, thereby transforming the sculpture from a material and visual artwork to a musical work.
